As the weather starts to get cooler, we’ve got the perfect indoor events and activities for you to spend your weekend at! Butttt for those wanting to make the most of that last bit of sunshine, fear not, you can head to Gunnersbury Park for some final summer festival fun with your friends. And if you’re looking to try something new, then how about heading to a wine club? That’s not all, check out what we recommend should be on your radar for the upcoming weekend! 

Rebellious Wine Club (Thursday 12th September) An unconventional wine club hosted by some of the most exciting female talent from the UK’s wine industry. Born from a desire to debunk some of the more common wine ‘myths’ and rules, the series of evenings aim to take the stuffiness out of wine tastings; keeping things fun, informative and a little bit mischievous. Erika is the founder of Mai Sake, a boutique Japanese fine sake merchant, and co-owner of Moto, the UK’s first independent sake bar. Her mission to make sake accessible to everyone will be the focus of this session, “Sake Essentials: What You Need to Know to Start Your Sake Journey.” Whether you’re a complete novice or have a budding interest in this beverage category, Erika will provide you with all the foundational knowledge you need to fall in love with this delicious drink. CelebrASIA (13th to 15th September) Get ready for an exciting new festival for London! This weekend, Battersea Power Station will offer its visitors the opportunity to experience the wonders of Southeast Asian culture first hand at the upcoming ‘celebrASIA’ festival. A number of striking decorations will transport festival-goers from London to the South East Asian subcontinent; from elephant sculptures to a traditional kite showcase across Electric Boulevard, as well as hundreds of lanterns hanging under Grosvenor Bridge and immersive Beca and Tuk Tuk installations in Turbine Hall A. Foodies are in for a treat as renowned South East Asian chefs and street food vendors will serve up the finest traditional cuisine from the region. London Design Festival (14th to 22nd September) London is widely recognised as one of the design capital’s of the world. Cementing this title is the annual Design Festival, a colourful and thought-provoking celebration of some of the world’s best designers, who interrogate the boundaries of design through events, exhibitions and installations. This year, the festival will showcase special projects and installations embodying major themes across society such as sustainability, AI and inclusivity. For this edition, there will be new insights into the ideas of play and creativity. Lookout for ground-breaking projects such as ‘Vert’, a design which is looking to transform city life through the creation of sustainable wooden structures covered in plants designed to cool urban areas. Waterworks Festival (Saturday 14th September) Summer might be fading out, but there’s still time to enjoy some festival fun. Created by the gang behind Percolate and Croatia’s Love International, Waterworks returns to Gunnersbury Park for one day in September, ready to turn the leafy surroundings into one unforgettable party. This year’s line-up is another stacked one, with the likes of Erol Alkan, Objekt, Conducta, Jamz Supernova, Ross From Friends, Leon Vynehall, Shanti Celeste, Moxie and many more on the decks to give London a day to remember. 70+ artists will be joining us for one special day, spanning the sounds of bass, house, techno & more. Proudly featuring fresh, up and coming talent from London’s underground scene alongside celebrated mainstays and paying homage to veterans who continue to shape London’s independent music landscape. Waiting for Godot (From 13th September to 14th December) One of the greatest plays of the 20th century, Waiting for Godot explores the meaning of life and the absurdity of existence. Didi and Gogo wait by a tree for a man named Godot. They don’t know who he is, why they are meeting or what time he is coming – only that something incredible could happen when he does. In a 1998 poll of more than 800 theatre professionals conducted by the UK’s Royal National Theatre, Waiting for Godot was voted the most important English-language play of the 20th century. Ben Whishaw is the recipient of two Emmys, two BAFTAs and a Golden Globe. Lucian Msamati was the first black actor to play Iago in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s acclaimed 2015 production of Othello. He has also starred in the Olivier award-winning Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Amadeus, and the multi-award winning Clybourne Park. Book here! 

Future of Food Festival (Monday 16th to 22nd September) From this Monday the sensational, sustainable, food-centric festival celebrating Central London’s buzzing culinary scene will return with a series of unforgettable, one-off events. In addition to a fantastic line-up of foodie events, the festival is also home to a Discovery Zone of education, awareness and insight with a variety of events taking place throughout the week, set to inspire taste buds! ECLIPSE (Until the 8th December) Recently opened, and presented by Lumen Studios, brings a groundbreaking spatial light and sound experience to London. Created by the acclaimed Japanese-French duo NONOTAK, this immersive exhibition showcases the pinnacle of audiovisual art. NONOTAK, known for their ethereal and immersive installations, have garnered international acclaim. Their work has been featured in prestigious publications such as Vice, Dazed, and The New York Times. The duo has also collaborated with luxury brands including HERMÈS, Adidas, and Stella McCartney, cementing their status as leaders in the world of audiovisual art. Set in London’s trendy Bermondsey district, ECLIPSE invites visitors to explore over 1,000 square metres of mesmerising installations. Book here! 

NAOMI In Fashion (Until 6th April 2025) NAOMI: In Fashion explores the unequalled 40-year career of fashion model and cultural icon Naomi Campbell. After being scouted in Covent Garden aged just 15, Campbell quickly rose to prominence in the industry, and made history a few years later when, at 18, she became the first black model to feature on the cover of Paris Vogue, in 1988. The first exhibition of its kind exploring the extraordinary career of the fashion model. Through the work of leading global designers and photographers, this exhibition celebrates her creative collaborations, activism and far-reaching cultural impact. Book here.

Fragile Beauty (Until January 2025) A new exhibition is arriving at the V&A this Saturday and it’s not to be missed! Between the Bridges (Reopened Thursday 2nd May) Between the Bridges kicks off this weekend with a huge season of events along the Southbank. From this Thursday there will be street food stalls, pop-up bars, and dynamic event spaces with breathtaking views of the Thames, just in time for the bank holiday weekend. Highlights include classic R&B, Hip Hop, and Garage sessions on Thursday evenings, followed by lively DJ sets on feel-good Fridays. Saturdays come alive with drag performances and lip sync challenges during brunch, accompanied by flowing prosecco; don’t miss Baga Chipz leading the brunch extravaganza on May 4th. Rooftop Film Club – Peckham (From 25th April) As Spring is in full swing, the return of the outdoor cinema is upon us! And this weekend you can see all your classic favourites like La La Land and Clueless! Or even the latest blockbuster – Poor Things. Situated atop Peckham’s iconic Bussey Building — their flagship rooftop! —  is Rooftop Film Club, just across the road from Peckham Rye station. Make an evening of it and treat yourself to their delicious pizza from Share A Slice and drinks just across the film club at Bussey Rooftop Bar. And what’s even better is they screen all films come rain or shine, providing blankets and ponchos during bad weather so your plans won’t be ruined by the unpredictable British Summer!
