Elbow has announced a headline show with special guests at The O2, taking place on Thursday 9 May 2024.

Elbow’s first arena tour since 2018 marks a moment for the band to deliver the perfect show in celebration of that ten-album career as lead singer Guy Garvey explains: “We love the intimacy of theatres, but we have some very big songs and the electricity of 20,000 people singing along cannot be denied. So, the big rooms it is and big shows there will be. Can’t wait to see everybody again.”

The dates see Elbow revisit the scenes of some of their greatest shows, their return to London’s The O2 will mark their fifth show at the iconic venue, following 2018’s sell-out show.

The landmark release of a tenth studio album in March of 2024 for one of the UK’s most beloved bands underlines the importance of elbow to the story of contemporary British music. Having established a reputation for crafting timeless music and cemented their position as one of the country’s most respected bands with their fourth studio album, the multi-platinum certified ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’, the band are now rightly regarded as one of the most influential acts of the last twenty years.

Their nine studio albums to date have seen elbow amass a host of awards, including a BRIT, a Mercury prize, and multiple Ivor Novello songwriting awards. After performing at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony the band were granted the freedom of their hometown of Bury.

The new album was written and recorded in their individual studios in Manchester and London and progressed with a period together in the Cotswolds. Production and mixing were finalised at their spiritual home of Blueprint Studios, Salford, central to all elbow albums.

Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing in a Las Vegas coffee house. Jo’s uniquely relatable comedy pulls inspiration from his family that has reached all kinds of people and has translated into sold-out arenas around the world.

In 2022, Koy kicked off his Funny Is Funny World Tour by selling out the Climate Pledge Arena (over 14,000 tickets) in his hometown of Seattle and ended the tour with a sold-out show at Tacoma Dome (over 19,000 tickets). The band has announced its first headline tour in over 5 years taking place at The O2 on Tuesday 23 April 2024.

Leto, the band’s frontman, accomplished a historic feat as he completed the first ever climb of the Empire State Building. Having always been fascinated with the incredible landmark since he was a child, he said “The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it, which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day.” As an avid climber, the Empire State Building and the tour announcement carry the sentiment that anything is possible if we try.

The tour kicks off in Latin America with festival performances at Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina and Brazil along with Estéreo Picnic in Colombia and Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival in Mexico. The band then arrives in Europe for 28 shows in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The show then travels to North America across the 24 shows in major arenas and amphitheaters. Finally, the tour will conclude in Australia and New Zealand with four arena shows.

UB40 has today announced a headline show at The O2, taking place in April 2024 on Thursday 11 featuring Ali Campbell.

Ali Campbell celebrates the band being inducted into the Music Walk of Fame with an intimate show at London’s Koko. The ceremony will see the unveiling of a stone on the Walk of Fame on Camden High Street.

Next week also marks 40 years since the release of UB40’s seminal album ‘Labour of Love’ on 12th September 1983, which produced the groundbreaking hits that will be performed on this tour such as ‘Cherry Oh Baby’, ‘Many Rivers to Cross’, ‘Please Don’t Make Me Cry’, and of course the ubiquitous ‘Red Red Wine’ which topped the charts both sides of the Atlantic.

Further hits from across the band’s career such as ‘Kingston Town’, a cover of ‘I Got You Babe’ with Chrissie Hynde, and ‘(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You’ helped the band and Ali Campbell become the authentic voice of UK Reggae, with a total of 70 million records sold, as they took their smooth yet rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe.

Joining UB40 featuring Ali Campbell for the tour will be very special guest, Bitty McLean. Bitty emerged in the 1990’s, and appeared on UB40’s 1993 album ‘Promise and Lies’. Singer and songwriter James Arthur has announced a headline show at The O2, taking place on Friday 22 March 2024.

The news succeeds his recent return with new tracks ‘Blindside’ & ‘A Year Ago’ and the announcement of his fifth, brand new studio album Bitter Sweet Love - out January 26th, 2024 on Columbia Records.

As well as featuring the two recently released singles, Bitter Sweet Love is James back to his very best, producing thirteen bites of world-class music. After being on stage, it struck him how his fifth album should sound. A sold-out crowd was singing along to his hits, immersed in the emotion that James could hear in his own voice.

Within days of the tour ending in the States, James began sessions with different producers to see who could click with his vision. His final stop was in L.A. with Steve Solomon, with whom he co-wrote his 2016 megahit ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.

Back in Britain, James attempted to write with more producers, but none came close to his bond with Steve, who flew over to finish the album at Miloco Studios in South London last summer, and produce a mature body of work, full of depth and oozing the impeccable songwriting quality that has defined James’s esteemed career to date.
