Escape To Tulum: What To Bring
Getting Ready for Your Tulum & Playa Del Carmen Adventure: What to Pack
As we gear up for our exciting escape to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen, it’s time to start thinking about what essentials to throw in your bag. We’ve got an incredible itinerary lined up, and having the right gear can make your trip even more unforgettable. So, let’s break it down!
Daytime Explorations
During our daytime explorations, comfort and versatility are key. For our visit to the mesmerizing Chichén Itzá, walking shoes and breathable clothes are a must. Don’t forget your shades, hat, and sunscreen to beat the Mexican sun. For a dip in the Saamal cenote, a swimsuit, a small / lightweight towel, and water shoes will come in handy. A small daypack can carry your essentials while keeping you hands-free.
Evening Vibes
As the sun starts to set, get ready for a magical evening! Whether you’re experiencing the Festival of Life and Death at Xcaret or enjoying the open bar on an 80′ motor yacht, comfortable yet stylish attire will keep you feeling your best. A light sweater or jacket might be useful in the evening breeze.
Tech & Extras
Capture every moment with your camera or smartphone, and bring a power bank to keep your devices charged throughout the day. We’ve got exciting activities like jungle quad trips, so having a GoPro or waterproof camera could be a game-changer. Don’t forget your reusable water bottle – staying hydrated is key, and it’s eco-friendly!
In Mexico, they use the same plugs as the US (Type A or Type B), so make sure you have adaptors for Type G (UK plugs) to Type A or B. If you leave it last minute, you can always grab one from the airport before departure.
Mosquito Protection
Mosquitos will likely make an appearance, especially near jungles and cenotes. Pack a good insect repellent to stay itch-free.
Cash & Currency
While cards are widely accepted, having some local currency (Mexican Pesos) on hand can be useful for small purchases and local markets.
Weather Considerations
Hopefully, we should get away scot-free! However, packing a lightweight rain jacket or travel umbrella might come in handy.
Footwear
From walking tours to beach strolls, versatile footwear is a must. Pack comfortable walking shoes for our sightseeing adventures. For the beach or our day at Bagatelle, flip-flops or sandals are perfect.
Beach Essentials
Our escape wouldn’t be complete without some quality beach time. Pack your swimsuit, sun hat & glasses. Toss in some sunscreen and a good book for a perfect beach day.
Remember, the weather can be warm and humid, so lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal. And since we’ve got a mix of adventure and relaxation, your packing list should reflect that balance.
Halloween and Day of the Dead in Playa Del Carmen
Get ready to embrace the unique fusion of Halloween and the Day of the Dead celebrations in Playa Del Carmen. It’s a time when ancient traditions blend with modern festivities, creating an unforgettable experience.
If you have something special you’d like to wear for either of these occasions, bring it along – whether it’s a small accessory or a full costume. However, if you’re looking to dive into the local spirit, don’t worry! There will be plenty of chances to immerse yourself in the festivities with opportunities to buy masks, clothing, and even get creative with face paints!
